Electronic system

We have recently introduced an on-line system for your child's learning journey which tracks their developmental goals and helps us to plan their next steps. You will be shown this on the day you view the nursery and upon securing a place you will be given more information in how you can access the system.

We have also introduced a new telephone system enabling us to send out group messages regarding things such as bank holiday date sand trip reminders.You, as parents/carers are also able to contact us on this service via a text message.


New nursery

Honey Bears has opened a new Nursery which is situated at Yenton Primary School, Chester Road, Erdington, Birmingham B24 0ED.

The Nursery opened in September 2015 and has 24 places for children aged 2,3 and 4 years old.

The Nursery operates from 9am-3.30pm Monday and Friday in school term time only.

Managers News

We would like to inform you that Denise Gamble and Jade Jarvis have both returned to nursery and we hope they are both feeling well and quickly settle back into nursery life.

We would also like to welcome Kelly  who is joining us and will be working in Butterflies with Tayla.

We are also looking forward to Carrianna returning part-time in September and then Full time in October.

We are also looking forward to welcomming Emma who has been working at our other nursery at Yenton. Emma will be working 3 days in Lower Pre-school alongside Loni and Charlie.

Please look out for our Dates for your Diaries which we will be putting up soon and giving out. These will show you things such as holiday dates, workshop dates and activities over the year.


30 Hours for 3-4 year olds from Sept 17

i have recently sent out letters to parents informing you to apply to see if you are eligible for 30 hours of free childcare from september 17. if you want to apply to this entitlement please can i have your eligibility code by 7/7/17  as i need to send them off to be verified by Birmingham city council.

Just to let you know  the new term starts Monday 4th Septemeber.

Upper Pre-school

We would like to welcome all the children moving into the Upper Pre-school room and also any new children starting with us in September.

In September our theme will be based around healthy eating. The children have shown an interest in different kinds of food and we will be discussing the shapes and textures of fruit and vegetables.

We will be using the garden to carry out lots of physical activities to also promote staying healthy.

Lower pre-school

Firstly we would like to welcome all of our new children who are settling really well into the group. We look forward to the new children joining us in September.

Our theme for September will be under the sea. We are really looking forward to this theme and we have a lot of fun and messy activities planned. Please feel free to see a member of staff from lLower Pre-school if you have any ideas for activities that we could introdice to the children. We have a new member of staff who will be starting in our group in September. Her name is Emma.

Emma has been working at our other nursery at Yenton and is transfering over to us and will work 3 days per week.

Loni will also be changing her hours. She will be working 2 full days and 3 days 9.00- 3.30.

The staff in in Lower will be Loni, Emma, Charlie and Shanisha{ who will be going on maternity leave in October}.

We would like to say a big hello to Kelly who will be a Key worker in our group and also to all our new children who are joining us in September. If you havn't been introduced to her please see one of the managers or Tayla.

This term our theme is 'we're going on a bear hunt'. We will be doing lots of activities such as water play, mud kitchen,making our own sensory bottles etc. We will be having lots of fun and getting messy so if you could bring in spare clothes daily that would be great.

We will also be continuing with our tooth brushing so  if you could bring in tooth paste for your child we will provide their tooth brush which are individualy named.

We are really looking forward to starting the new term with our new group.

We would like to say goodbye and good luck to Logan, Shiloh, Iyla and Niamh who are growing their wings and moving to Butterflies. We will miss you. Be good for Tayla & Kelly.

We would like to say a big hello to all our new children who are starting between now and October. We hope you all settle well and enjoy your time at nursery.

In September we will be doing a theme all about under the sea, with lots of messy play. We are also looking at using a lot more natural materials and toys, so we look forward to playing with those.

We will soon be having a parent workshop so please keep your eyes open for our signs and we hope lots of you will be able to join us and have some fun with your child.
